According to historical accounts, Allen received the original sample from a local Thai individual, and nearly all Burma spore samples available today trace their lineage back to that initial discovery.

Under the microscope, Burma spores display remarkable clarity and structural uniformity, making them an ideal subject for both novice and experienced researchers. This strain’s Psilocybe cubensis lineage produces medium to large fruiting bodies characterized by thick white stems and caps that range from light tan to deep brown. Mycologists appreciate its vigorous growth tendencies and robust mycelial networks, which have earned it a reputation as a “heavy producer.”

Microscopically, the spores measure approximately 11.5–17 x 8–11 µm and are typically subellipsoid, often observed on 4-spored basidia. They exhibit well-defined pleurocystidia and cheilocystidia structures, providing rich detail for advanced microscopy research. The Burma strain continues to be one of the most popular specimens in the cubensis family for taxonomy and morphological observation.
