Description

The Yeti Mushroom Spores represent one of the most remarkable and sought-after albino Psilocybe cubensis varieties in the world of mycology research. A stabilized mutation of the True Albino Teacher (TAT) strain, Yeti was first isolated and refined by the cultivator Jik Fibs, who reportedly spent several years stabilizing its genetics before sharing them with a small circle of trusted researchers. The result is a visually striking and genetically unique variety that has quickly become a global favorite among spore collectors and microscopy enthusiasts.

Yeti mushrooms are easily recognized by their thick, robust stems, creamy white coloration, and subtle blue hues that appear when handled or damaged. The caps often remain partially closed, giving them a ghostly, dome-shaped appearance with a faint bluish tint. This limited cap opening results in a slower spore release process compared to other cubensis strains, which only adds to their rarity and desirability for research purposes.

From a microscopy perspective, Yeti spores display fascinating sub-ellipsoid structures and are formed on four-spored basidia, consistent with true albino genetic expression. Unlike leucistic varieties, the Yeti mushroom is a true albino strain, producing spores with minimal pigmentation and exceptional visual clarity under magnification.

Because of its stability, rarity, and robust genetic makeup, Yeti Mushroom Spores are an excellent choice for both beginner and advanced mycologists. While the origins of the strain remain somewhat mysterious, its reputation as one of the most visually captivating and stable albino cubensis strains is well established across the mycology research community.

Strain Origin

Originally isolated by Jik Fibs, the Yeti strain is a descendent from the True Albino Teacher (TAT) genetic line. It took several years to stabilize before being selectively shared with trusted researchers, leading to its now-iconic status among spore collectors.
