Creeper mushrooms trace their origins to tropical and subtropical climates, with early specimens discovered on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Historically, Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms were first documented in Cuba by F.S. Earle, giving them the “cubensis” designation. These spores, sometimes referred to as Keeper’s Creepers, are noted for rapid colonization and their bluish bruising when handled or damaged.

The mature Creeper mushroom exhibits caps that measure approximately 35 mm in diameter, often with red-brown to yellow coloring, and stems growing around 120 mm or longer. The spores themselves are dark purple to dark brown, providing excellent microscopic features for study. This strain’s name likely derives from its fast and creeping growth pattern, making it a reliable choice for research.
